Reusable Shopping Bag

Paper or plastic? Ah, the dreaded question at the grocery store checkout lane. Opt for plastic and we risk getting a condemning stare from the environmentalists in our midst. But it also takes a lot of trees to make all those paper bags and most do not get recycled. What to do? Either reuse some bags you already have on hand, or invest in a reusable bag like this month's recommended resource. It's a well-made bag at a reasonable price.

The next question is what to do with one's household garbage, since many people use the plastic bags they get at the grocery store for their trash. One option is to use biodegradable bags (click on the "size name" drop down menu and you'll see that you can buy them in a 3-gallon food storage size or a 13-gallon garbage size).

To be sure, going green is seldom the most frugal alternative. But wise money management is not just about spending as little as possible. It's about doing the right thing. And that makes many earth-friendly products worth their higher cost.

“We recently had Matt Bell speak at our church. He brought an outstanding message on developing a life of generosity that really touched and blessed our congregation. He is a well-prepared, well-spoken communicator of God’s truth. His use of illustrations and visual media combined with the Word of God made for a very powerful message for our people. I would highly recommend Matt to your ministry.”
