Free

Have you listened to any good money management songs lately? I doubt that Ginny Owens had spreadsheets and bank accounts in mind when she recorded the song "Free." However, it's not only a great tune, but it conveys some important biblical insights into wise, God-honoring money management as well.

Owens sings of God's freedom--that because God accepts us as we are, we don't need to be "concerned about what the world will say" (1 Samuel 16:7). We are "free from worry, free from envy...free to live, free to give."

Within this simple tune are some powerful truths related to money. Through our relationship with God, we are free from the fear of not having enough, free from the temptation to compare what we have with what others have, and free from the need to cling to all that we have. Free? Indeed!

Praise for the book, “Money, Purpose, Joy.”

“Matt Bell is, I believe, one of today’s outstanding communicators. He has written a book that is, first of all, very personal in nature as opposed to theoretical. As a consequence, this book is very relevant to anyone who reads it. It is a tremendous integration of faith and finances. This book will undoubtedly have a very long life; I recommend it enthusiastically.”
