Money. Purpose. Joy.
Following the conventional wisdom about money has left too many of us heavy on debt and light on both savings and happiness. Our homes and TV screens have grown. Our joy has not.
Our culture would have us believe we are consumers and the path toward happiness is marked "more"--more money, more striving, more stuff. However, looking to what we own for meaning and purpose often leaves us physically worn out, financially tapped out, and thinking there must be a better way.
Fortunately, there is a better way. It begins with an understanding that we were never meant to be consumers. When we discover our true identity, we gain a new freedom to enjoy our possessions, and we gain a new direction for using our money more successfully and joyfully.
Workshops offered by Financially Speaking president Matt Bell are based on the counterintuitive principle that the core financial issue for most people is not that they have stretched too far with their money; it's that they've settled for far too little. Matt's teaching is designed to help people understand what gives their lives meaning and joy and then learn how to manage their money accordingly.
